HOW WE SERVE THE DOGS

1

FOOD PACKAGES

We drop off food packages multiple times a week. Using LifeStyle kibble, occasionally mixed with rice and mince, we feed dogs twice a day, daily. We feed puppies with age-appropriate puppy food when we can too.

Strays wondering the street receive a food drop, a meal to satisfy their hunger.

ADOPTION & FOSTERING

As much as many of the owners love and adore their dogs, they are aware they cannot provide them with the life they deserve and are wanting to get rid of them.

A lot of these dogs are available for adoption and we are always looking for fosters to care for the dogs in the meantime, if we cannot foster the dogs ourselves.

2

STERILISATION

We work with a few partner organisations to help us sterilise these dogs. This is arguably the most important work done.

We try to sterilise two dogs a month. The dog will go in for the morning and is then picked up later that evening. If the dog is not ready to be dropped off they will stay the night with us or an emergency foster.

We educate the owners on post-op treatment when dropping off dogs.

5

INJURY TREATMENT

Dogs are left free to wonder the streets without care, they are subjected to dogfights, cuts, sores, and scrapes, and abuse.

We see a lot of dogs with minor, and major, injuries. With limited medical supplies we do what we can to treat injuries, prevent infections, and allow them to heal.

Dogs with more severe injuries are taken to the vet.

3

VACCINATIONS

Parvo, Mange, and Rabies are all extremely common for dogs in Molweni, among many other illnesses and diseases.

The vaccination rates are low, and vaccinating these dogs is the biggest key to keeping them alive and allowing us to further improve their conditions. We have partners that help us vaccinate dogs and will occasionally take them to the SPCA for a lower cost if needed.

6

FUND-RAISING

All the work we do is not possible without having the funds to support it.

We host events and fundraisers to help us raise the necessary money to continue the other projects, but also to spread awareness and educate people on the dire situations in these townships.

Please chech out our events tab to see any upcoming events and try support us.
